I went to the dentist. I can't believe I did. Besides my semi-annual cleanings, I usually avoid the dentist like the plague. What does that mean? Does that imply that the plague likes to avoid things? I don't understand. I guess it should be, "I avoid the dentist as I avoid the plague", is that more clear?
Anyway, the dentist told me that I had an infection and to go get my wisdom teeth pulled. Umm, yeah, right, don't think so. They are so impacted that a previous dentist told me that if they don't bother me, leave them alone. Don't even think of pointing out that it's bothering me now. I've only had one infected once before, about 4 years ago, so give me the antibiotics and I'll continue living. Two people have told me what a nightmare it was having theirs pulled. Uh-huh. Thanks. Helpful, aren't you?
In other news, I met with the Bossman again. I'm getting a temporary raise for the new position. Ten percent, better than a poke in the eye, or tooth. He also told me to take the office. Woo-hoo! An office with drywall and a door! No more cubicles for me, thank you very much.
In family news, my cousin had her second child yesterday, another cousin is pregnant with twins (her 3rd and 4th children). I also learned that my unemployed sister, who turned 34 last week, ran up a $6000 bill on my grandmother's credit card. Nice.
It is beautiful Fall weather. I have a nice bulky Fall sweater on and still have the heater at my feet on full blast. I got my Land's End catalog in the mail this weekend so I've been looking at gloves and hats and scarves and all of the other wonderful money suckers associated with Winter.
