The ear nose throat doctor said that there would be no trouble getting on an airplane because once it's ruptured that's it. The guy at the clinic on Tuesday was scaring me with phrases like "permanent hearing loss". Idiot. Then the ENT looked at my ears and said that it's possible that it isn't a ruptured eardrum, that it's a condition of an infection that causes blistering on the eardrum which is usually indicated by severe pain (yup, that's what I had on the plane). When I told him that the eardrop antibiotics that the physician's assistant gave me made my ear hurt a lot worse, he said that maybe I did rupture it and that was the drops getting into the middle ear. But, it seems to be healed now. Whether a ruptured eardrum or a blistered eardrum, he had no hesitation about me getting on the plane. Woo-hoo!
Unfortunately, it's bittersweet. Yesterday I was resigned to rescheduling and since Michelle's husband will be out of town, I could go sleepover, watch movies and play with the baby. The good thing is that I don't have to reschedule the flights. I looked and everything is at horrible times. The bad thing is that I have to do everything (mow lawn, laundry, clean house, property management paperwork) tonight because I didn't think I was going. Oh well, as long as I'm not in pain, I can sleep on the plane.
Oh man, I ordered some books today thinking that I'd take them with me. Looks like I'll have to scrounge for something to read at night. I'm reading Stiff right now, but I had a very weird dream last night, I think that'll be a daytime reading book.
