Too Hot to Handle, Too Cold to Hold

Now I like hot weather, however, 78 degrees at 10:00 at night is ridiculous. I slept on top of the covers with the door open (whose bright idea was it to not have a window in the bedroom?). At 3:00, I woke up and realized that the mosquitos were eating me alive so I pulled the blanket up and over my head. Everytime I'd wake up and move it off of my face, I'd doze off and then would wake up again with a mosquito buzzing around my head. The screen on the door has a whole in it (doggie door from the former owners) so even if I did close the screen, the bugs would get in. The real reason that I can't close it is because my cat is too stupid to learn which way to come in so she wakes me up when she bounces off the screen trying to come in. Splat.

I went down to Lewiston this weekend to collect rent. I hate it when people lie to me. The tenant called two weeks ago to apologize that the rent was late and that she had mailed it. Then she called me three days later to apologize that she had the wrong address and it was sent back to her so she'd overnight it. I still hadn't received it two days after that, so I called to tell them that I'd be down there the next morning to collect the rent. I got down there and it was in an envelope tacked to their door with a note saying that they were both at work (I could swear I heard the TV). It was in cash. Hmm, what happened to the money order that they had tried to mail two weeks prior?! And where in the hell was the late fee?! If people tell me before the rent is due that it's going to be late and tell me when I will receive it and I do get it at that time, then I will waive the $25 late fee. If they think I'm waiving this one, they're out of their minds.
