20-oh-6, More to Come

Happy New Year.

This is the year I get to go to Walt Disney World (170 days).

My dad came down for Christmas and we saw a couple of movies. One was pretty cute (Fun with Dick and Jane) and the other was an emotional nightmare (The Family Stone).

I got a new cell phone! One that actually rings and doesn't turn itself off (I had my previous one since 2001 and it had been dropped. A lot.). I also, finally, got a CD player installed in my car. Now I can also listen to my mp3 CD in the car.

I have noticed a lot of "Year in Review" sites lately and since I'm not one to buck tradition (or is that the one too lazy to be creative?), I'll do the same.

January: Moved into my new office (still not completely set up). Friend had baby for me to spoil.

February: Quick trip to California to see a play. Met new step daddy (who now is no more).

March: Saw the touring production of Cats! I was in a production in 5th grade, but I definitely do not remember the storyline.

April: Threw a babyshower at my house for a co-worker. Had the brainstorm for the trip to Walt Disney World. Got DSL.

May: Bought my first gas powered lawn mower, no more manual mower for me. Went to California for a wedding and ruptured my eardrum on the plane. Found out a friend has prostate cancer (good prognosis).

June: Went to Illinois to see some friends (five days after the eardrum incident). Hosted a brunch for some friends at my house (on a roll with the entertaining!). Started golfing with a couple of co-workers once a week down in Lewiston.

July: Read the new Harry Potter book the day it came out and in one sitting (actually two sittings, had a break for dinner). Friend buys a horse. I go riding for first time in 15 years; don't die.

August: Cover for co-worker and feed lab animals. Crayfish eaten by aquarium mates on my watch. Spend lots of money on cat at vet. She was fine.

September: Grandfather and his wife visit, play peacekeeper between step grandmother and my dad. Went to the county fair.

October: Hardly made it out of the office due to grant proposals. Had yet another party (3rd one this year for those counting) at my house. Good ol' Halloween...basically an excuse to order pizza and drink beer. Car broke down in the valley and had it towed to Moscow for something that I could have fixed.

November: Went to Denver for a girl's weekend. Went to my dad's for Thanksgiving and instead of the traditional TV dinner, we went out to a nice restaurant for the big meal. It snowed in town.

December: Went to Seattle for my birthday. Food, food, food. Cold, cold, cold snap in town for three weeks. Utility bill out of control.

OK, that was depressing. Now I know why I don't do these retrospectives. I guess it was a pretty quiet year.
