Why yes, yes I am listening to my new iPod Nano.
I went up to Coeur d'Alene for a work retreat and our Apple representative donated the Nano as a raffle prize. I told my boss that if he won, I got it. I told that to one of the faculty member's wives at the dinner Friday and she said that if he won it, they'd give it to me. I told the bossman that and so,on Saturday, when we were supposed to have the raffle, he asked the 16 participants if it was OK with them to just give it to me. Yay!
There was some tricky formatting issues with my computer crashing and Novell (something with drivers), but our resident geek was able to get it to work. Yay!
Now I won't be bored at the IBEST meeting. :) Or on the plane to Orlando in 92 days. Or Boston in 9 days. I don't know if my co-worker is going to Boston with me or not. She's feeling guilty about going because she's interviewing for another job.
The retreat went all right. Except for the complainers. It's a free room, who cares if it's small. I don't see how they can complain about a free room that they're only in while they're sleeping. And I'm not just saying that because my room was great this year (overlooking the lake with a fireplace, balcony, and remote control drapes). And instead of a couple of apples, a small container of Boursin cheese, and a few crackers and grapes as a thank you for the meeting, the resort gave me a huge gift basket with 8 apples, a lot of grapes, a box of crackers, Boursin, and Gouda cheeses, a bottle of water, huckleberry kettlecorn, 4 pounds of mixed nuts, a huckleberry-chocolate bar, and a huckleberry candle. It was amazing.
But the food wasn't very good so it looks like everyone wants to go elsewhere next year. Funny how they don't remember that I tried to go somewhere differently last year and I was shot down by the majority.
