Real Estate Follies

When my dad was down here last weekend, we went to look at a piece of property a little east of my town. It was a very nice piece of property and the house on it was livable, but not to my dad's satisfaction. So he went home, waited a day, dug the materials out of the trash and finally made an offer. Three other offers were going in at the same time. He's in second position for the stupid reason that his is contingent upon selling his house because his was by far the better offer. Once he learned that he was in second position with that house, he looked on the internet for other places. On Saturday, he called me to have me take a look at one that is a little north of my town. I scoped it out (absolutely beautiful) and called him from the property to tell him to contact the agent. After being on the market for over three months, an offer had been accepted the day before. Crap! Here's hoping that it falls through. Or the other one, but hopefully this one. The other one has better land, but this one has a much better house.
