I'm Ba-aack

Besides a nasty cold that began on the 26th and still isn't gone, I'm fine. Also besides the cold leading to mucho congestion which of course led to yet another bursting of the eardrum, twice, on the plane home, I'm fine. Follow up appointment with the ENT tomorrow afternoon.

Walt Disney World was awesome! We waded with the dolphins, hit all four theme parks and the two water parks, did very well on the Kitchen Sink Sundae, had dinner with Pooh and friends...the list goes on. I must say that since dinner with Pooh and Friends was a buffet, I had a salad and a roll -- and four desserts. :)

Clem and I did a few of the traditional things when she visits: Lethal Weapon movie marathon; Farmer's Market cherries and bread purchases coupled with spaghetti making day; pie down in Grangeville (about 90 minutes away); manicure and pedicure; lunch and a new movie (The Devil Wears Prada). We ran out of time for one dinner that she makes and for KFC. We added a Kevin Smith movie marathon.

In other news, my dad called me last Wednesday and when I answered, he said, "I just wanted to say: hello neighbor." He bought a house in Troy (about 30 minutes east of town) and is moving in late August. We looked at the house last time he was here and he offered on it, but was moved to second position. He withdrew his offer and then the first people backed out so he was contacted and decided to give it another try. It has about 9 fewer acres than his current place and the house needs a lot of work (for his standards), but his current house will sell for about $200,000, after fees, more than he's paying so he can remodel it to suit his tastes. Crap, I guess that means that the improvements on my house will have to wait since he'll be too busy with his own house. I don't know how I'm going to tell my mother that he's going to be that much closer.

Today is Stacey's last day in the department. A few of us are taking her to lunch. She's off for a couple of weeks while her dog has puppies and then she'll start in the other department. Her dog is due on Saturday so if she's not early, I'll go over to watch Megan while she delivers.

My dad finished another book. I'm editing it now and I love it. I think it's my new favorite.

OK, think that's it for now.
