B is for (Plan) B

Clem backed out of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival trip. Now I really want a hot fudge sundae and a Jelly Belly burger.

Plan B: I'll go down to see her at school in October or November and take her to see the Reduced Shakespeare Company's The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged). And we can hit the Ghirardelli soda fountain there, too.

B is also for Billy Joel. I heard someone mention not liking Billy Joel. I can see if you don't like him personally (tantrums are something I don't particularly care for). However, to say that you don't like his music is something I believe. Some of his music perhaps, but all of it? It's so varied. If you don't like Piano Man, then how about Benny and the Jets? How about Uptown Girl. All three very different songs.

[Edited: yes, yes, yes, Benny and the Jets is Elton John, but I'm sure that Billy Joel has a similar song, I just can't think of one]

Just an observation, I spotted six punks in town on Sunday night. Where did they come from? One actually held up his pinkie and thumb like a phone, gesturing for the girl walking by to call him. Really? Did I just step into a cheesy '80s music video?

But... Benny and the Jets? No, no, no, no. That's Sir Elton! And furthermore, I would instantly distrust anyone who said they hated the entire Billy Joel catalog. They are just lying to themselves.

Duh, of course that's Elton John. I will blame that brain fart on the fact that I heard Benny and the Jets while looking at the Movin' Out tour dates. Yeah, that's the ticket...
