I'm not a jewelry wearer, but thanks to guilt free girl's weekend spending, I am now the owner of an Italian charm bracelet. The other two woman have them so we went into a store in Omaha that sells nothing but Italian charms. After an hour in there, I broke down and bought a bracelet and three charms. I have since ordered two more charms on ebay. I have a Chuckie from Rugrats for me and then I bought charms representing Clem and Megan. Now I'm thinking of doing a bracelet inspired by vacations with Clem so I ordered a Walt Disney World and a Jelly Belly. Considering that I'll probably only wear it once a year when I see Clem, I don't know if this is a good thing -- says my tight-wad side.
Girl's weekend was fun. We went to the Nebraska State Fair in Lincoln, the Omaha Zoo, and we went on a tour of the Omaha World-Herald. We didn't do nearly as much shopping or eating as we normally do, but I still managed to gain 4 pounds. We went to Gorat's (Warren Buffet's favorite steakhouse), The Melting Pot, and Cheeseburgers in Paradise. And the only place we had dessert was The Melting Pot. Usually it's dessert every meal. I cannot wait until October when I get to go to The Melting Pot again, I've already informed Clem that we're going. There's one announced for Spokane, but I think that's a long ways off.
There were three of us and we asked to add someone to the Big Night Out deal, but our waitress misunderstood and said that there's plenty of food for three people. We were worried that there wouldn't be enough since last year two of us ate every bit (GasX, Alka Seltzer, Pepto) so we just ordered another entree. Instead of adding a person to the meal at $40, we just added an entree at $20 -- what a deal. Not if you think about it, but theoretically.
