I've been a gym member for two months. And have gained 5 pounds. I broke down today and made an appointment with a personal trainer. I need someone to get my butt in gear since I obviously can't do it on my own. I used to be able to, but it all went downhill when I recorded over my favorite step aerobics tape.
I raked all of the leaves last Thursday between the gym and work. Umm, that is: in the time between getting back from the gym and going to work. I was more sore from that then the gym. That's a clue that I can't be left to my own devices at the gym, I get caught up in watching "Angel" or "Mad About You" reruns and forget to push myself. I think if I meet with the personal trainer to learn what to do when, I'll be able to do it myself. I hope I won't need a permanent one, I'm too cheap for that. To start, I'm getting four sessions. That should give me the kick I need. The first one is Thursday morning at 5:15. I don't think I've ever seen this trainer at the gym. I see one of them constantly and she has more experience, but is pretty booked. I spoke with another but he mumbles and it drives me crazy, it's too much work to concentrate on trying to understand what he's saying.
I better get going. I have to run to the bank before taking Megan to swim lessons.

A good trainer makes all the difference. Good luck! (I'd say break a leg but that seems exceptionally cruel.)
