I took Friday off to watch Megan. Her daycare provider was closed and she ended up having an ear infection. Since it was Spring Break and my boss was gone, I decided to take her for the day. We watched Wallace and Gromit, played with Play-doh, danced, ring around the rosied, played with blocks, and generally had a good time. Wednesday was beautiful, but Friday was rainy and haily so no outside time. She took a long nap and 5:00 came all too soon.
On Saturday, my dad and I went to the home and garden show at the Kibbie Dome and were extremely disappointed; it was about half the size as last year. Add to that the running into a former co-worker whom I don't like and there you go. We went to the mall because he had a few things he wanted to buy at Bed Bath & Beyond for the new house, but he didn't buy anything for one reason or another. We had a hot dog at Orange Julius, a cookie at Mrs. Fields, and then, after a spin around the building supply store at the other end of town, a shamrock shake at McDonald's. He is such a bad influence, no wonder I've only lost 4 tenths of a pound.
Saturday night, I picked up some dinner and took it out to my dad's. Scarfed it down, and then went to Stacey's for a tea party and game night. Megan's godparents bought her a tea set for her birthday so the guys got to go downstairs to play Wii while the girls were stuck upstairs for the tea party. I mean, the lucky girls got to have tepid water...I mean, it was great. Probably would have been more great if Megan weren't being such a snot.
Anyway, I have probably mentioned before that I'm not fond of two of the people at game nights. The guy stayed home Saturday because they had a fight and he wasn't talking to his wife. His wife told me that they're going to adopt a baby (not realated to the fight). Umm, sounds like you already have one.
I slept in Sunday and ran some errands. My dad came over for corned beef and cabbage -- I can't wait to have a Reuben for dinner tonight. Well, my version of a Reuben.
I also can't wait to go home today because the arborist was there trimming my trees and shrubs (I know, how lazy am I?) earlier this afternoon.
Happy St. Patrick's day! I have on my green sparkly nail polish and my Celtic knot ring. I brought in shamrock cookies and my shamrock platter. Everyone else around her sucks.
