I broke out the flip flops this weekend (although when I was a kid, they were called thongs). It was great. Yesterday was 77 degrees! Today is 50 with rain and chance of 1/2" snow accumulation overnight. It was trying to snow about an hour ago. Wish I'd made plans to see Clem this weekend since it was 95 degrees there. That's perfect in my book.

I got an excited IM from Clem last Friday:

Clem: GUESS WHAT!!! I got asked out on a date last night!!!

Me: have you set a date?

Clem: no...but I met this guy at our friend Rx's apartment last night and we were talking and then Bx [roommate] and I had to leave, so he got my number. Then he texted me and said "I wasn't sure if you had gotten my number, sucks you guys had to leave so early." and I said "yeah I got it...We'll be back next week!" and he replied "or we could go to dinner this week so we don't have to wait?" how smooth is that?!

Me: wooooow. so you "don't have to wait"...very smooth

Clem: I KNOW. so I said "For sure! Give me a call" and he said "Awesome, looking forward to it"

Me: is this the Rx that is/was going out with Lx or someone [me, trying to remember the social connections of Clem's college life with people I've never met]

Clem: went out with Lx last year, is really good friends with Rx2 who is Lx's current boyfriend (thanks to meeeeeeee introducing them at the beginning of the year)

Me: so what's this guy's name?

Clem: Kx. not some stupid designer name...

Me: with a "k"...hmmm...i guess that's OK. i mean, O"K" ha! does he go to ucsd?

Clem: yeah and he was born and raised in Ojai!

Me: i'm sorry. oh, i mean, that's great ;) make sure he's not in a cult, though. Ojai has more cults per capita than any other US city

Clema: I'm banking on him doing the guy thing of not calling for a couple days. he's cute though!

Me: oooh la la

Clem: blonde, a little taller than me (which could be a problem because I like wearing sky-high heels) and he looked cut under his T-shirt. I think he runs/swims

So, today's Monday and he still hasn't called. Bastard. Considering they met at the regular Thursday night beer pong night (trying to ignore that aspect of her college life), he doesn't have much time to call her for a date before waiting for the week. She seems to attract guys with no follow through.
