My friend Stacey's friends suck. I tried to get in touch with them to discuss plans for her birthday celebration Sunday and no one called me back. Finally, on Friday night, I called a friend of hers that I'm not too fond of to touch base and let her know my brilliant plan and she mentioned that what they had discussed was doing it next weekend, but the two of them were going to get together that night and discuss it. Didn't ask to hear my plan. I called Stacey and she told me that they could suck it and we'd get together on Sunday. Saturday morning, she calls and we firm up plans. Her parents decided to come up since she wasn't doing anything with her friends and we'd have a barbecue. I called her mom to say I was bringing the desserts and white sangria.
At 10:30 Saturday morning, her friend (finally) calls to say that she didn't have any ideas and she was thinking of next weekend. I told her that I thought it was too late for this weekend and informed her that Stacey wasn't going to be in town next weekend. I called Stacey to see if she wanted to invite everyone and she said no. I called her back, said it was too late since Stacey had made other plans, but they (the two other couples) could maybe do something in a couple of weeks. As in, I'm done, I'm making my desserts and sangria this weekend and they're on their own. And, by the way, here is the brilliant plan I had, perfect for her, isn't it?. I guess we'll have to remember it for next year.
They go to Stacey's just about every Saturday for game night and meet in town for coffee most weekends. It's the least they can do to spend $10 on her to help me out with the food. I haven't added up my expenses, but I'd say it's at least $50. Ass hats.
