It was such a beautiful weekend, I even wore shorts on Saturday. And got a little pink weeding in the back yard. I had my hair appointment, too. Thank goodness she could squeeze me in. She's usually about 6 weeks out so when I had to cancel my appointment when I was in California, I thought I was screwed.

I got all excited that I was on track with saving for Clementine's college graduation trip in two years that I decided to go all out and strongly suggest the Mediterranean cruise. Unfortunately, I realized Sunday that the saving was up to the month that she graduates and I would have to book at least a year before the trip. Now I'm not nearly as excited and am in a holding pattern. I'm not giving her the options from which to choose for a few more months so we'll see how things play out.

The weekend before last, I went to dessert with Stacey and her friends. Oh my God, the chocolate spoon cake was sooo good. And Megan was sooo funny. She was in quite the mood. The next day, we all took Megan to see Kung Fu Panda. I know better then to go to the movies with those people. First I was told to meet in the parking lot at 4:45 (movie at 5:00). I got there and was standing outside, looking toward the direction from which I thought people would be coming. I waited for about 5 minutes (getting nervous) and went inside the mall and there was Stacey, Megan and two of the others. When I pointed out that I was told that we'd meet in the parking lot, I was answered with, "Oh, I probably did say that, but they came and were walking in so we walked in with them." Is that an acceptable answer? We were still waiting for two others -- the ones who had the idea of going to the movies. When we called, they said that they were on their way and already had tickets. Only one person working in the theatre, having to sell everyone a ticket and then go to another cash register to sell everyone snacks.

I'll be the first to admit that I can get a little uptight about the movie going experience. For it to be pleasurable, I have to get my ticket 15 minutes prior to the movie. Not three minutes and then snacks and then get a seat. Seriously. Oh, and Stacey bought Megan a bottle of water (couldn't get the water from the soda fountain) and the cashier said she'd have to pay for a cup. We were thinking no more than a quarter. Nope, price of a soda -- $2.75. For the cup. For the bottle of water she just bought. Are you freakin' kidding me?

Last time three of the 7 of us went to the movies, we were getting seats as the movie was starting. Previews already shown. I get anxious about such things. It took me about half an hour to calm down and get into the movie. I am definitely not cut out for going to the movies with them.

I was tempted to take a comp afternoon and go see Iron Man. I think this may be the last week in area. Instead, I'll take some comp time to take my cat to get her shots. Whee. The Incredible Hulk is playing too, and although the first one wasn't great, this one has Ed Norton so that pretty much makes it worth the price of admission. But, instead of movies, I'll save my money and see where I get with the graduation vacation.

My dad and I were supposed to go to North Dakota over the 4th of July to pick up the street rod, but his body man has to come here in late July and said that he'd just bring it. That leaves me free to paint my shop over that weekend. It should have been done a couple of years ago.
