My grandfather is breathing, but with assistance. His wife called my dad and asked him about my grandfather's wishes. My dad and I were a little surprised that they hadn't talked about such things. Especially since my grandfather has had pretty serious health scares in the last year or two. He mentioned the durable power of attorney and she seemed to know exactly what he was talking about so I think she probably just wanted to talk to my dad about it, more of a informing him of the situation rather than asking about her husband's wishes. My dad assured her that she couldn't make the wrong decision, just listen to what the doctors are saying. He also suggested that she contact his cousin who lives in town who's good at these kinds of things. He called her, but she didn't answer so hopefully she is in town and not visiting her daughter in Texas.
