Nostalgia

I was just IM-ing with Clementine and she has been invited to WAK's roommate's brithday party. She has leftover pie crust and was going to make a pie to take for the birthday boy. Since she has a lot of lemons, she's actually deciding between a lemon meringue pie and cupcakes with lemon buttercream frosting.

That got me to thinking of my grandparent's yard. I loved living with them, with the Santa Barbara climate, I could always go to the garden for a lemon. Now I have to buy them. Just not the same. Clementine mentioned how their house ruled and how glorious the yard was and asked if there were plums, too. So I started listing their garden items and now I'm kinda homesick. Plums, apricots, avocados, grapes, artichokes, figs, and with six orange trees, there were always ripe oranges. Too bad they sold that house about 7 years ago and moved into a mobile home in Oxnard.
