Deep Breaths

Yesterday, I wrote an e-mail to the financial person in the department who is leaving tomorrow telling her that we (the remaining staff) know nothing about her job and can I get together with her before she leaves to go over the pending issues and any procedures that I need to know. I copied it to another staff member and the Bossman. The Bossman called me this morning and said that my e-mail forced him to think about the situation and he got the financial person in Math to help us out. Hmm, wasn't that my suggestion two flippin' weeks ago! Why yes, yes it was. I guess he had to take enough time to figure it out on his own, however, meanwhile, I have tension up the wazoo thinking about how I'm going to juggle three frickin' jobs since we are lacking the departmental coordinator (glorified office manager).

So, deep breaths, it's all working out (as of 10:00 this morning). We're getting a competent financial person to deal with the duties during the search and the office manager downstairs applied for the departmental coordinator position. The organizational chart was tweaked so that position is now my supervisor, so I hope that she gets it because I like her. Yay, I might not have to quit after all. Well, we'll see about that. One breath at a time.
