No DC for Me

I had not heard about this year's meeting in DC. Every year, I go to a meeting at the National Institutes of Health, the funding agency for the grant that I work on, and this year, they're limiting it to only one participant per institution so that means that the principal investigator of the grant (the bossman) should go. I was hoping that his schedule would prevent him from going since I just found out today when it is scheduled and his travel schedule is so hectic. But, no, he had to have that time frame free. Damn him!

Last year, I went a day early and bummed around DC and then I went up to Arlington (I love the Metro). I was really looking forward to that this year. Also I was feeling guilty because I didn't get a rubbing of my mom's first husband in the Viet Nam War Memorial wall so I thought I'd do it this year. Guess not!
