I went to both events yesterday. And enjoyed them. I felt a little out of place at the women's organization talk, I was the youngest person in the room by far. It was a menopausal crowd. There was some interesting research in resistance training and the maintenance of bone density.
The second talk was a literary reading. Margot Livesly, writer-in-residence at Emerson College, read from her most recent novel, "Banishing Verona". I had read synopses of her books on Amazon and wasn't all too interested, but the reading was wonderful. I was disappointed that I hadn't brought any money to buy the book. Next week is a reading by poet Gaylord Brewer, founder and editor of Poems & Plays.
