Cat-astrophe

My cat is dead. She was hit by a car on Friday. As I was leaving work on Friday, I checked my messages on my cell phone and I received a call from a woman telling me that she found Tonks in the road (" I didn't hit her" ) and had moved her up onto the grass. My dad was visiting so I called him as I was walking to my car to see if he could find her because I sure as heck didn't want to. He drove up and down the street (it's only about 4 blocks long) and didn't find her. When I got home we each took a side and walked up and down the street. We stopped in at the nearby vet, called and then went to the animal shelter and nothing. I'm assuming that she was dead, that the woman wouldn't move a wounded cat out of the street and just leave her. So, the scenario that I want to believe is that she moved her out of the road, removed her collar so that she could call me, and someone found the cat and disposed of her (no, Daddy, I'm not going to look in the trashcans along the road, thank you). She was a cool cat. I had her for about 4 months and she fit in very well.

Saturday, we went to the animal shelter and I got another kitten. She is such a wanker. And so needy. So not Tonks. She had better get better soon before I drop kick her out into the street. The first night, I left my door open so that she could come in, last night, I closed my door, tonight, I might shut her in the bathroom. Oh yeah, and she's not litter box trained. Oh joy. If I wanted something so needy, I would've gotten a dog. I'm a cat person for a reason.

I'm so sorry about Tonks. That's just horrible. If there's anything I can do, let me know.
