DSL Blues

I ordered DSL last weekend and it was supposed to have an activation date of next Monday which sucked since I have to cancel my dial up by Sunday in order to not be charged for the month. I received an e-mail yesterday saying my line was ready and I checked the tracking of the self install package and it was out for delivery. I went home at lunch to find it on my doorstep, opened it up, and it says to wait until after 6:00pm on the service ready date to install. I go to work, I go to a party for someone who just defended his PhD thesis, I get home at 8:00 and...can't get past instruction number one. That's right, can't get the friggin' phone cord out of the friggin' phone jack. I try tweezers and a pocket knife, but the casing is so tight that it doesn't budge. I remove the cover to see if I can see something different. Nope, the phone jack is just too tight. I think this weekend I will buy a new phone jack and just cut off that section of cord and start from scratch to the new jack, it seems a lot of work for something as simple as getting the friggin' phone cord out of the friggin' phone jack, but I think it's the only friggin' option.
