E is for Excess

I've been spending, or planning to spend, a lot of money lately. Of course, planning for Omaha!, I've marked where we'll be eating: steakhouse (mmm, filet mignon), The Melting Pot...all not too inexpensive places. The zipper on my only pair of jeans and only pair of khakis have both gone kaput (hmm, hint?) and the elastic is entirely gone from my bra straps so every move is answered with an adjustment back onto the shoulders. That's a lot of money to spend before going to Omaha!. To shop. Actually, we probably won't do as much shopping as we did last getaway. This time, we're going to the state fair in Lincoln, the zoo, and on a tour of the Omaha! newspaper. At least the latter is free.

Meanwhile, I'm planning for San Diego in October. Hotel, car, and flight are all pretty cheap, but paying for meals for two people -- who like to eat -- and going to a play adds up. Not that I'm going to cut anything out of the trip, mind you.

When you sign up for Club Fondue on the Melting Pot website, you can get a free chocolate fondue for two. To qualify though, I think you also have to order the meal for 2, which is so much food it makes you want to die. But in a good way.

Unfortuantely, there are three of us this year, but I'll check out the site to see what I can find, thanks. Last year we ordered the meal for two and you are totally right...in a good way. The waiter even gave me my own piece of cheesecake when we were joking around with "where's yours"? Holy crap, that's a lot of food.
