I housesat again this weekend. Luckily, their trip in late August has been canceled so I can relax a little. It was a lot easier this time since I only had two of the five dogs. However, one of them decided to be a little destructive and I'm not sure how he did it. They have an entertainment center so under the TV is a drawer and then a pull-out shelf where the VCR/DVD player is and then cupboards. The dogs management to slide out the shelf from underneath the VCR. The VCR fell into the cupboard below and the sheld was on the floor in front of the cupboards. They chewed several movies. How did they get the shelf out from under the VCR without any teeth marks? Why did this happen when it's been about 3 years since they've been in the same room with it? And, how did they get to the movies with the drawer closed and the cupboard blocked by the shelf that was moved to the floor?
The last two times I housesat, there was a red hen who was constanly flying the coop. The first time, I put her back, the second time, they just left food and water outside the coop. The day I left last time, they came home and found her eggs hatching. She was flying out to hatch her eggs, twelve of them. 10 survived and they gave some to his sister-in-law's sister. They kept a few. So now she's content to stay in the coop since her chicks can't get out behind her.
Nothing exciting with the horses and mule, thank God. Glad there trip later this month was canceled or they would've been due.
