Our department's going through its external review on Wednesday and Thursday. I think I've done all of the planning that I can. Finished the meeting schedule, compiled the welcome packets for the reviewers, arranged for people to pick them up and deliver them places and take them to meals. [I wrote that last sentence and realized that I hadn't ordered the sandwiches for tomorrow's lunch, phew, I just did it.] I'm picking two of the committee members up at the airport, one at 3:00 this afternoon and the other at 11:00 tonight. Here's hoping that the weather cooperates and they can land -- threat of thunder storms and high winds.
Compounding things, I start housesitting tonight so I have to leave the dog (adorable year and a half year old German shorthair pointer) while I go to the airport, probably first go home to look online to make sure the flights on time. On Wednesday, my dad is getting his windshield replaced (big, big rock), but he has a doctor's appointment in Pullman so he's going to drop off his car and I'll pick him up, we'll go to McDonald's for breakfast and then he'll drop me off at work and take my car to his appointment. On Thursday, Stacey has to go to the airport so she'll come by where I'm housesitting around 5:00 in the morning and then I'll drive her car from the airport to my house then walk back to where I'm housesitting, luckily only six blocks from my house. Then I pick up the committee and take them to breakfast with the rest of the staff. I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it. On Friday morning, I pick up two of the committee members at 5:00 in the morning and take them to the airport. Then I'm finished. Except for the housesitting until Sunday around midnight. Perhaps I'll sleep in Memorial Day.
