I decided to ramp up my savings and since there's a small deposit due at booking and the rest is due 75 days before the trip, that I'd mention what I was thinking (Mediterranean cruise) to Clementine. Looks like she's on board.

I spoke to a friend in Santa Barbara who was supposed to come visit me in October. They've decided that gas is too expensive so instead of driving up here...they're going to cruise to Hawaii. Hmm, not too logical.

I bought (hopefully) all of the paint I'll need for the shop this weekend. I saw a few wasps nests so I bought some spray to put on tonight. I hope that they'll all be vacated by Friday.

I took my dad up to Spokane for his annual Indians ball game. Again a good time was had by all. Beautiful night (about 95 degrees), cold beer, good hot dog, good peanuts and good Cracker Jack (not really, it seems I was totally rooked on the peanuts). There were three guys behind me that were pretty spiffed, but they were amiable enough. And the evening ended with fireworks.

I can't believe that it's July already. It's a little heartbreaking that I saw a few students yesterday who seemed to be moving into Greek houses. School doesn't start until August 25, for Pete's sake.

I had my eyes checked on Monday. There may be a little prescription in my right eye, but not enough for glasses to help me. The main thing is that my pressure's good so no need to worry about glaucoma yet. I did get lectured by the doctor. Apparently, one should go every year, not every 8 years. Who knew?

When we got back from Santa Barbara, I was surprised that gas was still under $4 ($3.98). The next weekend was 4.02 and then the next was $4.05. I saw one of the stations went up another 6 cents today so I got gas at lunch, thinking that it'll go up at the station I use this afternoon. Apparently it's over $5 in Goleta. Since some economists are saying over $7 by 2010, I'd like to book my travel as soon as possible.

Also, I believe that I agreed to go on a cruise to Alaska with my Santa Barbara friends in 2013. They said 2012, but I'll need some time for my bank account to recover from the graduation vacation because I plan on going big.
