On the Verge of War

I received an e-mail from my cousin, actually sent to her address book, about Jesus being the reason for the season and how all Christians should say Merry Christmas, not Happy Holidays, that retailers advertise "Ramadan and Kwanza to sell books by Franken and Fonda", umm, wtf? So, OK, delete.

But then, someone replies to all with:

Yeah, this is what liberalism brings. They will slowly take away what this nation is about and trade it for a socialist nation. This county keeps voting for the anti-Americans and this is what we get. How many of us called our Senators this year? How many of us stood up to someone who
called this country terrible or agreed with this liberals? How many of us pray for this country? How many of us were too busy to vote? How many of us are going to delete this email and do nothing? Its our fault for letting this happen and when our kids ask us why is our country so hateful to Christians, how many of us will tell we were too lazy to make this country
better for them? Just get ready for at least a 4 year downward spiral closer to hell. :-)

One PO'ed Conservative

So, I wrote a reply:

Now this just makes a PO'd Liberal. Forwarding the message is your prerogative, but please do not reply to all. America is about freedom of religion. If you think this country is hateful to Christians, you should walk in the shoes of a different faith, especially during the "Christmas season". Making this country better for Christian kids is a way to make other kids different. I infer your e-mail to mean that the only American is a Christian American. If you're going to preach, try the
tenents of Christianity of love and tolerance, don't try to divide Americans. There are also plenty of conservatives who believe in the separation of Church and State. And, keep in mind that there are a lot more people of different religions in this world than there are Christians.
