I could probably feel financially stable enough to get those kids if I drew out some equity in my house, but since I'm not willing to do that at the moment, I guess that's an indication of my lack of my commitment and a reason why I shouldn't get the kids.

Perhaps I should go ahead with the home study so when I win the lottery, I'll be all set with the paperwork and won't have to wait. Too bad I don't buy lottery tickets.
