My great-aunt died Saturday night, her daughter left a message on my dad's machine Sunday morning to let him know. His cousin apparently also indicated that we didn't have to come for the funeral. Her death is a bit of a blessing since she was ready to go. When her sight left and she could no longer write in her diary (she's a Guinness record holder for having the most consecutive daily diary entries -- I think it was a little over 78 years), she was ready. Her body just wouldn't quit. She was 97. She was also somewhat of a meddling busy-body. I wouldn't be surprised if she also holds the record for most letters to the editor of her local paper.

My condolences to you and your family. It was a similar situation when my grandmother passed as well...
