Scary and ewww.
Stacey found out today that her immediate neighbor was arrested in December for obtaining child pornography. A lot of it. Albums and envelopes and videotapes (recorded off of the computer). In fact, the enforcement agents didn't get the information in time so they performed a "knock and talk" -- just showing up at the guy's house. At that moment, he was downloading and printing images. He cooperated, let them have everything in the house. Apparently the maximum is 10 years, but they may be able to add on for the severity of some of the images and the ages of the minors.
What cracks me up is in the restrictions in the plea are things you'd expect like can't be within 100 yards of a school or park, no access to a computer or other electronic device without the written consent of his probation officer, and then it says that he cannot be in possession of materials of a sexual nature containing minors. Umm, duh. That doesn't seem like a probationary restriction.
This guy was in a bad car accident a year or two ago and was even transferred to a hospital in Seattle for quite a while. Stacey offered to watch his dog, but he had an adult child come get the dog.
The State's Attorney office says that he's going "away for a long time", hopefully enough for him to lose his house so he can't come back near Megan.
