I just updated the About Me to reflect another year here in this beautiful place. If memory serves, I got here on June 26, moved into my house June 30, and started work July 1. Time flies when you're having fun because here it is 6 years later. I heard author Richard Ford mention that he had an instantaneous recognition of home when he resided in New Orleans. That's exactly what happened with my town and I feel extremely blessed to be here.

I accomplished the task of painting my garage this weekend. Power washed it and sprayed it on Friday and then brushed the trim on Saturday. As a thank you for my dad's help (and as justification to see it), I took him to see Hancock on Saturday afternoon. Besides the extreme close-ups and the whirling around the actors, I liked it. Believe it or not, there's a little bit of action in it.

On Sunday, my dad and I were invited to his neighbor's house for dinner. Really good food -- sausage, ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, green beans. Wow, that guy is a great cook. I made a summer pudding that didn't turn out, but oh well. I'm housesitting for them in a couple of weeks so there's some money for the Europe fund.

This weekend is the auto swapmeet in Spokane (goody) and possibly a visit from my dad's friends, although they're hard to pin a date down. That's right, be as vague as possible -- around the second week of July.
